ஷாங்காய் திரைப்பட விழாவில் திரையிட காவலன் தேர்வு

விஜய் நடித்த காவலன் திரைப்படம், சீனாவின் ஷாங்காய் உலகப்பட விழாவில் திரையிட தேர்வு செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளது.

சித்திக் இயக்கத்தில் விஜய் - அசின் நடித்த காவலன் படம் பொங்கலுக்கு ரிலீஸானது. இந்தப் படம் விஜய்யின் ரசிகர்களிடம் நல்ல வரவேற்பைப் பெற்றது.

இப்போது சீனவின் முக்கிய நகரமான ஷாங்காயில் நடக்கும் 14வது உலகப் பட விழாவில் பனோரமா பிரிவில் தேர்வு பெற்றுள்ளது.

இந்த விழாவில் உலகம் முழுவதும் 80 நாடுகளில் இருந்து 2500 படங்கள் இதில் கலந்து கொள்கின்றன. இதில் முதன்முறையாக தென்னிந்தியாவிலிருந்து காவலன் படம் மட்டுமே தேர்வு பெற்றுளளது என விஜய்யின் பிஆர்ஓ பிடி செல்வகுமார் கூறினார்.

ஆஸ்கர் விருது பெற்ற 'ரெய்ன் மேன்' பட இயக்குநர் பேரி லெவின்சன் தலைமையில் அமைக்கப்பட்ட இயக்குநர்கள் குழுதான் இந்த விழாவுக்குரிய படங்களைத் தேர்வு செய்தது.

வரும் ஜுன் 11 முதல் 19 வரை விழா நடக்கிறது. விழாவில் சிறப்பு அழைப்பாளராகப் பங்கேற்க விஜய்யை அழைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளார், என இந்த விழாவிற்கு படங்களை தேர்வு செய்து அனுப்பும் ஒருங்கிணைப்பாளர் ரேக்ஸ் தெரிவித்தார் .

Kaavalan goes international

The 14^th Shanghai international film festival selects Kavalan in their panorama section.

The Shanghai International Film Festival (SIFF), founded in 1993, is China’s only A-category international film festival accredited by the FIAPF.

The FIAPF stands for International Federation of Film Producers Associations based in Paris, created in 1933, is an organization composed with 31 member associations from 25 of the leading audiovisual production countries. FIAPF is also in charge of supervising international film festivals, including some of the world's most important ones.

In International panorama section:

The SIFF receives nearly 2,500 annual submissions from well over 80 countries and areas over the past several years and the total festival submission number still maintains fast growing. Among more than 200 selected international films of high quality, all Panorama programs are strongly presented by a variety of commercial blockbusters, art-house films, indies, box-office top rankers and award-winning films by master filmmakers - to nurse multi-leveled consumption concept for local Chinese market.

In recent years, International Panorama draws high attention by prestigious film directors and stars with their new works. Premiers and red carpets, talents and crew Q&As with audience and press conferences not only raise possibility for local market entrance but also greatly helps to boost future box office for theatrical release.

Mr. Barry Levinson won the 1988 Best Director Oscar for Rain Man, starring Dustin Hoffman and Tom Cruise. This film brought him the Academy Awards Best Picture and Best Director, and the Best Picture Award at the Berlin International Film Festival.

The 14th SIFF will kick off on June 11 and Barry Levinson together with other six international judges will attend the opening. Besides, Levinson's classic works will be shown in the Tribute to Masters section where our Tamil film Kaavalan  (Body guard) will also be showcased.

SIFF has issued an invitation to actor Vijay as guest of honor. The exact date of screening will be announced soon.

Ilayathalapathy & Ileana off to Netherlands

Ilayathalapathy Vijay and Ileana are flying to Amsterdam in Netherlands, for Shankar's Nanban song picturisation.Nanban is a remake of Aamir Khan's Raju Hirani directed classic 3 Idiots.

Amsterdam is one of Shankar's favourite locations, especially the Tulip Gardens, 'discovered' first by Yash Chopra, in the famous Silsila song.

Shankar has done even better during the 'Flower Festival of the Keukenhof Gardens' in full bloom with tulips and other flowers making it a riot of colour on screen for the Kumari, Kumari   song in Anniyan.  The song featured Vikram and Sada, with Vivek in the background.

Now Shankar and Harris Jayaraj the Anniyan composer have come out with a peppy melody which will be picturised on Vijay and Ileana in Amsterdam and partly in Zurich in Switzerland.

Shankar and his team will be leaving for Amsterdam today (May 4) and will be back by May 10 or 11.
After May 25, Jiiva will join Vijay and the team will be flying to France and Switzerland to shoot some very important scenes and songs in the eye-catching locales of France and Switzerland

VELAYUTHAM IN FINAL SCHEDULE

The latest update regarding Ilayathalapathy Vijay's VELAYUTHAM is that, the team hasmoved to  to UK for the song shoot and the shooting is schedule to happen is some beautiful locales. The shooting would continue there till next week.and then the team would move to chennai to take some important  scenes.

The audio for this movie would be released quite soon and the rights is bagged by Sony. Music is scored by Vijay Antony and he had recently expressed that the songs would be turning out to be a bigger hit than Vettaikaran and also informed that there are totally 5 songs in the movie and each being totally different from each other.

Vijay is Likely to Star in Ponniyin Selvan

Mani Ratnam has already started work on his magnum opus Ponniyin Selvan, the screen adaptation of Amarar Kalki’s timeless classic novel Ponniyin Selvan. The story is set in the Chola Empire during the 10th century. Word has it that Mani has roped in big stars like Ilaya Thalapathy Vijay, Arya and Anushka for the Tamil film and Tollywood star Mahesh Babu for the Telugu version.

When Vijay was asked how he was preparing for his debut in a period drama, he gave an evasive reply, “I can’t speak about it. Let the announcement come from the producer’s side.”

There is an unconfirmed rumour that Mani might drop the project since he’s finding it an uphill task getting an investor for the whopping budget of the movie.
