Director Jayam Raja has agreed that Velayutham is a remake of the Telugu smash hitAzad which had Nagarjuna as the hero. But the director clarified that it is not a scene-by-scene copy of Azad. Only the crux of the story has been lifted from Azad and everythingelse has been changed to Vijay fans’ tastes and the Tamil audiences, Jayam Raja said.Velayutham has the Ilayathalapathy in the title role, with Genelia and Hansika as theleading ladies. Saranya Mohan plays Vijay’s sister in this film. The audio of Velayuthamis expected around August 15th.
