Director Shankar has shot some important scenes in Koyambedu market area. Some scenes were also shot near the water tank. The crowd was thrilled that Shankar had chosen to shoot in that locality and large number of people thronged the area to catch a glimpse of their favorite stars.
Nanban is progressing at a breakneck speed and director Shankar had said that he will complete a long schedule at one go and then get on with the post production work. This film is a remake of the Hindi movie 3 Idiots that starred Aamir Khan, Madhavan and Kareena Kapoor. The Tamil version has Vijay, Jiiva, Srikanth and Ileana.
